When you book your first visit, our friendly team will ask a few questions about your dental history, medical information, and any concerns you’d like us to know about ahead of time.
If you have dental insurance, we’ll gladly help you understand your coverage and submit claims on your behalf whenever possible.

A Warm Welcome from Dr. John Christensen
Your first appointment includes a warm welcome and comprehensive dental examination by Dr. John Christensen.
During your dental exam, we’ll evaluate:
- Your teeth for cavities or worn fillings
- Your gums for signs of gum disease
- Existing crowns, bridges, or dental work
- Your bite and jaw function
- Oral cancer screening
- Overall oral health
If necessary, digital X-rays will be taken to help us see areas that aren’t visible during the clinical exam.
Professional Dental Cleaning
One of our registered dental hygienists will also complete a professional cleaning during your first visit.
Your dental hygiene appointment may include:
- Removal of plaque and tartar
- Polishing
- Flossing
- Fluoride treatment if recommended
- Personalized home care advice
For patients with more advanced gum disease, additional hygiene appointments may sometimes be recommended to provide the best care.
We’ll Explain Everything
If we find a cavity, worn filling, cracked tooth, or other concern, we’ll show you the images whenever possible and discuss your treatment options.
